There are many overweight scouts in scouting troops all over the planet. This is not supposed to be funny. This is not supposed to be some sort of earth-shattering news.

This is true in China, this is true in India, and this is definitely true in the United States, parts of Western Europe and elsewhere. It seems that there is a tight correlation between economic development and health-related and lifestyle issues.

This is a serious issue because increased obesity rates lead to all sorts of health problems – from Type II diabetes to certain types of cancer, a wide range of cardiovascular conditions, and so on and so forth. It is quite mind blowing because it’s like opening a can of worms.
